Historic Downtown Plattsmouth Association Holiday Coloring Contest is a Success

Plattsmouth, NE –The Historic Downtown Plattsmouth Association (HDPA) held a holiday tree coloring contest in response to the cancellation of the Victorian Christmas on Main event scheduled for December 5th, 2020. Tobacco Education & Advocacy of the Midlands (T.E.A.M.) sponsored the contest. The following individuals took the winning prize in their age group: Amani Davis (Kindergarten); Eli Boyle(1st Grade); Aubrey Edmonds(2nd Grade); Ryann Richter(3rd Grade); and Talya R-M (4th Grade and up).

Cassie Boyle, a contest participant Mom, emailed the HDPA thanking them for offering the contest during the holiday COVID season, "My four kiddos enjoyed an entire afternoon with their glitter gel pens listening to Christmas music. What a great way to kick off the season!”

HDPA and T.E.A.M. would like to thank Plattsmouth Elementary School teacher, Ms. Loper, for the coordination of gathering a large majority of the 134 completed coloring pages. The works of art will all be viewable in the windows of the businesses in the historical district through Christmas. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to take a stroll down main street and enjoy our community youth artwork.

The Historic Downtown Plattsmouth Association works to protect, promote, and preserve the historic district of Plattsmouth. Tobacco Education and Advocacy of the Midlands (T.E.A.M.) is a local coalition working to educate and advocate for healthier tobacco-free communities.

T.E.A.M. has created several coloring and activity pages with tobacco education for the community. To request free copies or for more information on tobacco education and resources for youth, call 402.593.3022 or email This email address is being protected from spambots.
