Brown Bag Program at Cass County Museum

The next Brown Bag Program at Cass County Historical Society in Plattsmouth will be Tuesday, March 22, at 12:00. The program about author Laura Ingalls Wilder will be presented by Kirsten Wood,Youth Services Librarian at Plattsmouth Public Library. She will talk about the new biography of Wilder published last year. Ms. Wood will also discuss whether the inaccurate portrayal of Native Americans in the books warrants the series being removed from library shelves.

The program is free and open to the public. Coffee and cookies will be served.

Plattsmouth Harvest Festival Meeting

The next meeting to discuss and plan the Plattsmouth Harvest Festival is on Thursday, March 17, starting at 7PM, at the Senior Center. The meeting is open to the public. The dates for this year's Plattsmouth Harvest Festival: September 8-11, 2016.

Update of Cass County's 1994 Solid Waste Plan

We would like to do another push on getting the survey out to as many people as possible as it is really important to get as much feedback from the community as possible. Could you please assist us with publicizing the surveys to as many people as possible within the Cass County area?

We need your help and feedback!

Cass County is currently in the process of updating and revising the 1994 Solid Waste Plan. The end plan will seek to provide recommendations to the County and Communities to mitigate disposal costs and increase economic benefits and opportunities through better utilizing wasted resources.

We recognize that no plan will achieve its stated goals without the support of the communities involved and so we would appreciate if you could take a couple of moments to answer the questions on the link below. Answers can be given anonymously, or you may fill in your details at the end of the survey if you would like to be kept updated with the progress. Survey questions can be found here:
