County Officials Graduate from Leadership Training

KEARNEY, NE. — Forty-four county officials from 25 counties received Certificates of Achievement for their participation in the Nebraska Association County Officials (NACO) Institute of Excellence.

The officials were honored during a presentation at NACO’s annual conference in Kearney, Wednesday, December 9^th. Nancy Josoff was awarded the certificate by Nebraska Extension Associate Dean and Director, Dr. Wayne Moore and NACO President and Buffalo County Commissioner, Sherry Morrow. The Institute of Excellence is collaboration between NACO and the University of Nebraska. It provides leadership development for elected and appointed county officials. The Institute includes face-to-face workshops in North Platte and Lincoln. The 2015 sessions were taught by faculty from Nebraska Extension, the UNL Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication and the UNO Centers for Public Affairs Research, as well as the executive director for the NACO. According to the program’s co-coordinator, Nebraska Extension Educator, Carroll Welte, “the Institute provides county officials an opportunity to learn more about themselves as leaders to better serve their constituencies.”

Since 2008 the Institutes of Excellence has been offered to county officials. Information and registration materials for the 2016 program will be on the Nebraska Association of County Officials website, nacone.org in early January. Jolly Santa Claus and his elves are organizing the annual Christmas trip. However, things start to go awry on Christmas Eve. A tough-talking teen arrives to hand-deliver a letter from her little brother. A key supply has gone missing and a sleighs salesman has just arrived from Detroit!

This story filled with cute kids and song. Innocent enough for the youngest child and entertaining enough for adults! Remaining production dates are December 18-20. Curtain times on Thursday-Saturday are 7:30pm while Sundays are 2pm matinees.
