July 30^th is the next blood drive at the Plattsmouth Community Center. The Red Cross is in urgent need for donors. PLEASE help by donating and spreading the word to your friends and family for us. Childcare is only $1 ea for donors during the hours of 5:30-7:00pm. Register either online by clicking the link below and entering our Sponsor Code or come into the PCC (308 S. 18^th Street) and register on our form. Here are the complete details:

CONESTOGA PUBLIC SCHOOLS is accepting applications for teacher assistant positions (7 1/2 hours per day), food service baker (7 1/2 hr), food service dishwasher (3hr), and food service prep/serving (7 1/2hr). Wages are dependent upon qualifications and experience of successful applicant. All are 9-month positions. Conestoga Schools operates on a 4-day-week. Starting the week of March 31, if you plan to drive on Highway 75 between Union and Nebraska City, you will probably need to add at least a half hour to your trip.

A six-mile stretch of highway south of the Union corner will be shut down until September while crews rebuild the road.

Either plan to detour west on Hwy 34 to Hwy 50, then south to Hwy 2, or go across the Plattsmouth toll bridge to I-29 and down the interstate.

Plan accordingly, so you don't have to hurry!
