The Plattsmouth Community Schools District Newsletter is now available online at http://www.plattsmouthschools.org/nltr/documents/Winter09_district_newsletter.pdf. This is a great tool for keeping up to date with what is going on in the district.

The first item advises us that the 3 snow days already accumulated will be added to the end of year so that the last day of school for the students is a half day on Tuesday, May 25th with teachers going until Thursday, May 27th.

There is also a reminder to make sure you are signed up with the new Blackboard Connect service which sends out automated messages regarding school closings or other school information.  I love this service, it prevents you from watching the endless loop of school information because it sends you a direct text message. Please contact Danelle at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you are not currently receiving the messages so that she can get your information and get you in the loop!

Looking ahead, the School Carnival has been scheduled for January 22nd so watch for details, this was a new event last year and a great time for everyone.

The Red Cross Bloodmobile is at the First United Methodist Church on Monday, December 11th from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Please contact Ray Newton, coordinator at 296-5385 or www.givebloodgivelife.org to make an appointment.  The Heartland Chapter handles Cass County as well as Dodge, Burt, Saunders, Sarpy, Douglas, and Washington Counties.  Due to the recent storms, the blood supply is dangerously low so please take time to donate.

Girl Scout cookie sales start Thursday, January 7th, so find your favorite Girl Scout and stock up on Thin Mints, Shortbreads, or any of the other assorted goodies.

Please remember, I love receiving information about your group to include in the newsletter so please email me-deadline is Tuesday morning so anytime before that is great.

Thanks and see you around town,

Kirsten
