I attended the D.A.R.E. program graduation on Monday night. What an impressive event-the students all received certificates, pennants, and t-shirts to commerate the hard work they did learning about how to say no to all types of drugs. Congratulations to Deputy Wes Tuttle and all of the teachers involved!

What a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend-the weather was magnificent!  Obviously, people are taking advantage because when driving around town, Christmas lights are up everywhere. My kids and I especially like the Santa on the roof of some friends of ours house, that signals the beginning of the season for us!

Lots of Holiday Events going on....

Hometown Holidays is this Friday night, December 4th starting at 5:00 p.m. So bring the kids to meet the reindeer, sing along at the Christmas Coffehouse with Terry Little, and watch the tree at the Museum being lit. I have also heard rumors that a famous guest will be making an appearance for the kids in the crowd... This is always a great way to kick off the holidays and show support for the local merchants.

Cookie Exchange at Hosanna Lutheran Church from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 12th. Please call 296-2662 for more information to participate in this tasty event!

Hearing Christmas music is one of my favorite things especially since I am not musical so I am appreciative of others who are willing to share their talents. The Sweet Adelines Quartet, "Chord Side" is presenting a free "Christmas Concert" on Sunday, December 6th at 4:00 p.m. They will be accompanied by Marsha Fleming at the First Lutheran Church, LCMS, 1025 Avenue D. They will be serving refreshments after the concert.  Best of all is a sing a long with the audience as part of the entertainment!

Plattsmouth Conservancy's CHRISTMAS HOME TOUR will be Monday, December 7 from 6:30-9pm. Tickets are available at The Gift Nook, 530 Main Street or at the door. Five of Plattsmouth's historic homes will be decorated and open for your enjoyment. For more information call 296-5002 or 296-6196. Paid in part by a grant from the Cass County Visitors Promotion Committee.

The Plattsmouth Public Library's annual Holiday Party is on Tuesday, December 15th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.   This year is titled, "Holidays Around the World" and will feature crafts from different countries.  For example, we will making straw stars from Germany.  Santa will also be there, so bring the kids down for your Christmas picture in plenty of time for your Christmas cards.  This event is free and open to all ages!  Please call the library at 296-4154 if you have questions.  I am looking forward to seeing all of my friends there-it is one of my favorite events of the year.

Have a great week!
