This week is primarily pictures from King Korn Karnival and my experiences this past weekend. What a great time! The Kiddie Parade on Friday was a blast and so nice to see so many new entries and families walking together.
We also worked the Cub Scout Stand selling popcorn, drinks, and treats. This is our first year as a Tiger Scout and I was impressed with the people who stopped by the stand and were so kind to donate to our troop.
My favorite part of the Karnival is seeing everyone out and about on Main Street-I saw people I see everyday plus people I haven’t seen for months and it is all good. One of the best parts about living in a small town is the chance to be hugged on Main Street. (well and of course the chances to eat a yumburger or homemade pie…) Congratulations to Myrna Hale, the Korn Klub, the many businesses and organizations that take part, WELL DONE! The teamwork and dedication of everyone involved really helps Plattsmouth to “shine” for these 3 days.
One small note before the pictures that came home in the backpacks from the Elementary School last week. Tomorrow night, Tuesday, 9/15 is the third “WatchDOGS Dads and Kids Night” is from 6:00 p.m to 7:00 pm. It’s the kick-off event for this year’s WatchDOGS program. The Plattsmouth Elementary School and the Parent Teacher Organization will sponsor a free dinner from 6:00 pm-6:30 pm. Starting at 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m, the volunteers will learn more about the program and have the opportunity to sign-up. The program is designed to ask the fathers, grandfathers, uncles, or other adult males to spend one day a year volunteering at the school. If you have any questions or are unable to attend, please call Keryl Mines at 296-4173.
Hope you like the pictures as much as I enjoyed being there to take them. Talk to you next week!
